Whitefly, aphids and thrips attack on cabbage PAB

The objective of this work was to investigate the relationships between predators and parasitoids, leaf chemical composition, levels of leaf nitrogen and potassium, total rainfall, relative humidity, daylight and median temperature on the intensity of whitefly, aphid, and thrips attack on cabbage. Whitefly, aphids and thrips population tended to proliferate in the final stage of plant or reached a peak population about 40 days after plantation. The whitefly and thrips tended to increase with an increase in the median temperature. A dependence of Cheiracanthium inclusum and Adialytus spp. populations on whitefly and aphids populations, respectively, was observed. Whitefly population dynamics in okra plantations PAB

The control of whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) biotype B (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) on okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) consists primarily in the use of insecticides, due to the lack of information on other mortality factors. The objective of this study was to evaluate the spatial and temporal population dynamics of the whitefly B. tabaci biotype B on two successive A. esculentus var. "Santa Cruz" plantations. Leaf chemical composition, leaf nitrogen and potassium contents, trichome density, canopy height, plant age, predators, parasitoids, total rainfall and median temperature were evaluated and their relationships with whitefly on okra were determined. Рассмотрена многолетняя динамика содержания жира у шпрота и анчоуса Чёрного моря как индикаторов обеспеченности пищей в связи с температурой воды, концентрацией фитопланктона, величинами запасов и уловов этих рыб. Глобальным климатическим фактором, оказывающим прямое и косвенное влияние на обеспеченность мелких пелагических рыб Чёрного моря пищей, является температура. Региональные факторы, воздействующие на состояние шпрота и анчоуса, – пищевая конкуренция, речной сток и загрязнение водной среды.

กระบวนการลดอุณหภูมิแบบสุญญากาศของผักกาดหวาน (Lactuca sativa var. longefolla) Thai Agricultural

Research was aimed at studying the optimum vacuum cooling process of cos lettuce precooled from initial core temperature of 19-21 °C to the final core temperature of 4±1 °C. The experiment was carried out in a rectangular vacuum chamber having a volume of 14.98 m3. In the experiment, the final pressures for vacuum-cooled cos lettuce were set at three different levels namely, 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 millibar. The ressures were were at the final pressure of 0.60 kPa and the holding time of 25 minutes. The total cooling time was 39 minutes and the energy consumption was 4.17 kwh per 200 kilograms of cos lettuce. The electricity cost was 0.067 baht per kilogram of fresh weight. Rice seed accelerated aging for longevity evaluation in humid tropic was conducted in order to study the temperature and optimum duration for evaluation of seed longivity at Krabi Rice Research Center during 2012-2013. Rice seeds from rice planted in both wet and dry seasons were used. By storing the rice seeds in plastic bags at room temperature and every month rice seeds were monitored and quality testing, another part seeds were aged in nearly 100 percent relative humidity at 40, 42, 44 and 46 0C for 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. ผลของวิธีการเก็บรักษาไข่อาศัยต่อการเบียนของแตนเบียนไข่ Trichogramma spp. Thai Agricultural

The parasitoid, Trichogramma spp. was produced using the rice moth eggs Corcyra cephalonica as host. Thus, the study of storage methods was done for the right timing of the parasitoid application during the pest out break. Various storage methods were studied by comparing different set of packed eggs in tissue paper and fire mesh, and unpacked eggs. The eggs were then stored at 5±2°C and 7±2°C for 1-4 weeks. The interaction between temperatures and packing methods resulted in the reduction of egg weight. At 5±2°C reduced fewer egg weight and more larval emergence than that at 7±2°C. Additional emergences were found more in packing eggs with tissue paper than fine mesh and unpacked. The one week storage eggs at both temperatures showed more than 80%...

Study on effect of environment on four rice planting durations (January, April, July and October) and four rice varieties (PTT1, PSL2, RD31 and RD41) was conducted at Ratchaburi Rice Research Center in 2011. The experimental design was split plot in RCB with three replications. Varietal characteristics, yield, yield component and meteorological data were recorded. PTT1 variety showed the longest maturity (128 days). Rice planting in April showed higher yield (808 kg/rai) than that planting in other durations. In addition, planting in April also showed the highest panicle length, number of filled seeds/panicle and 1,000 seed weight.
